Farewell, ATL.

Well, here's my blog for my year in Manchester. I leave Atlanta after Labor Day, and I go to my parents' house in Perry for two weeks. On September 17, I'm headed across the Atlantic to the University of Manchester. I'm getting my post-graduate master's degree in History and a British accent. I'm coming back like Madonna (except not all snooty and awful), hence the web address for this blog (http://comingbacklikemadonna.blogspot.com).

I've always kept a diary, but I'm going to try valiantly to update this blog for you, my friends and family. For your information, and maybe I shouldn't post this for the world to see, but here's my address:

I'm also going to be noting (per the title of my blog) strange words that I learn over there with a double asterisk (ex. bloke**). In my opinion, learning completely different words for things will make my ridiculous accent even more so when I return.
